National traditional dress in Canada
OTTAWA, Aug. 24 (UPI) - Muslim feminine officials in Canada's national police force can put on traditional headscarves along with their uniforms, the country's public security ministry stated Wednesday.
"The commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police recently approved this inclusion on uniform allowing female members of the Muslim belief to wear a hijab when they therefore choose, " Public protection Canada spokesman Scott Bardsley told international News Wednesday. "that is meant to better reflect the diversity within communities and encourage much more Muslim females to consider the Royal Canadian Mounted Police as a vocation choice."
The move, officials state, is supposed to enjoy all countries and inspire Muslim ladies to participate the RCMP.
